Its been a crazy couple of months around the Pelly Household! Between getting my Personal Training certification, being up and down with various bugs, and adding some members (baby chicks for laying eggs) to our little family, the day to day grind has been a little overwhelming! Thankfully, things are evening out and I've been able to catalog some delicious foods to share with you all! I experimented with protein donuts after receiving a new mold in the mail, and the first test batch was delicious! After a little tweaking of ingredients, the official Cinnamon Bun Protein Donuts were born! I hope you all will enjoy this recipe, definitely a fun one to make with any little ones you have at home! -Preheat oven to 350F -Prep your donut pan (I sprayed a little baking spray on my silicone mold, your pan may not require any). Cinnamon Donut Batter 1/2 ripe banana, mashed 4 tbsp egg whites 1 tbsp @sportsresearch MCT oil (or regular coconut oil) 1 tsp vanilla extract 3 tbsp coarse ground raw cane sugar 1 tsp ground cinnamon Pinch of sea salt 1 cup unsweetened almond/coconut milk 1 3/4 cup @kodiakcakes Buttermilk Power Cakes mix (found at Costco, Target and most grocery stores!) Combine all ingredients in a mixing bowl and fold together with a spatula until everything is well incorporated. Fill your donut molds about 3/4 of the way, then pop in the oven for 12-14 minutes. While those are cooking it's time to put the Glaze together! I used @1stphorm Level-1 Caramel Latte flavor but feel free to experiment with your favorite protein blend. Caramel Latte Glaze 2 tbsp coconut oil, melted 2 tbsp water or unsweetened almond milk 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon Dash of sea salt 1 level scoop 1st Phorm Caramel Latte Level-1 Protein Combine all ingredients together in a bowl and whisk until a creamy, drizzly sauce emerges...may add a little more water depending on the consistency of your protein. When the donuts are finished, remove from the oven and allow the pan to cool a few minutes before popping them out onto a cooling rack. They should still be warm when you Glaze and top them, and that's the best part! Toppings (per donut, I recommend glazing and topping them as you eat them, not all at once! The donuts can be reheated easily, just pop in the microwave for 25-30 seconds and the Glaze will melt right on): 1 tbsp @questbar Cinnamon Bun Protein bar crumbled up 1 tsp cacao nibs, or some of your favorite chopped nuts. Sprinkle the goodies on top of your freshly glazed donut, and take a big deliciously sweet protein filled bite! Enjoy my friends ❤️🍩😘
